December 2008 message.
2008 has been a year filled with plenty of excitement with moments of disappointments and sadness as well. Nevertheless, the year has been a very successful and productive year. At this time, our thoughts go to those who have lost their loved ones. and to those who been impacted by the recent wild fires.
With the holiday’s fast coming up, it is time for each of us to give thought to the true meaning of these holidays. With the world in turmoil and a global financial crisis upon us, holidays give us the opportunity to focus at the blessings and the beauty of living and to be thankful for what we have. Holidays are therapeutic in a way. It takes away the thoughts of the problems we are faced with and redirect on what we have given and received in return. In that short period while it lasts, it relieves us of that burden.
I am thankful for the opportunity to play a modest role for our District and Squadrons and for the United States Power Squadrons. We would not have reached this far without the support and loyalty of my Bridge team and all squadron members. Thanks for your great efforts.
We look forward with heightened Hopes for the future with whatever challenges we may confront.
